About Me
My name is Sophie Dinitz. I am a freelancing scenic artist currently based in New York City. I was a part of the Juilliard Professional Apprenticeship program under Charge Jenny Stanjeski in 2023-24. I have now gone on to work for places including, but not limited to, Sightline Fabrication, Cobalt Studios, and Pink Sparrow.
After seeing my first production on stage at six years old I was in awe of the world created on stage. In high school I made it my mission to be a part of that creation, so the scene shop was my second home. I quickly became the charge artist, and learned soon after that I wanted to turn my extracurricular passion into a career.
I graduated from the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in St Louis in 2022 where I majored in Studio Art with areas of concentration in painting and sculpture, along with a minor in Drama focused on technical theater. During my time at WashU, I immersed myself in the campus theater community.
I hope as you explore my portfolio and examples of my work, you are able to get a sense of my dedication and passion for scenic art and the theater community as a whole.
